Kick-start to the season

Posted by united4ever2009 on September 11, 2009

There have been only 4 rounds of fixtures in BPL till now. But there are numerous indications about what we can expect in the coming months. From United’s perspective, the opening fixture against Birmingham at home wasn’t a blistering start by any means, but a solitary goal by Wayne Rooney assured United of a win. Nevertheless, this was the start of the battle against critics on whether United could cope with absence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez. Since the start, United have been blowing hot and cold, making the critics even more vocal. But when the going gets tough, the tough get going. After the disappointing defeat at Burnley, United bounced back with a brilliant second-half display at Wigan, with Wazza doing the double in a 5-0 drubbing. In the game against Arsenal, being second best for most part of match, United emerged victorious with a touch of luck. Both these matches are a tribute to United’s perseverance and ‘never say die’ spirit.
On the other hand,Liverpool have been lukewarm in their start. Chelsea, under Ancellotti have been making steady progress and pose a grave threat to United’s dreams of yet another title. Arsenal, started off brilliantly, but I have my doubts about their consistency to stand the entire season.
If the start is anything to go by, we have a mouth-watering contest on hand to decide the best in the Premier League.
United rarely cease to amaze and I doubt this season will turn out any different.
