Guess who’s back!!!

Owen Hargreaves

After spending a full year on the sidelines Hargo has, earlier this week, arrived at the Carrington training complex following his surgery and treatment in the USA with renowned knee specialist Dr. Richard Steadman. Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his delight at having him back and said, “He has the determination and resilience to see it through. He is now back with us and hopefully the boy gets a break and continues his progress without any further mishaps.

Having made just 25 starts for the Champions, and considering this is a rare knee operation, there were doubts surrounding the 28-year old England midfielder who has 42 international caps to his name, clearing which, SAF added,  “We don’t see the fact he has been out a year as a handicap. Other players have been out a similar length of time.

When Joe Cole came back on Wednesday you forget he was missing for nine months. It is achievable, particularly when they are young.

hargreaveszf7What fans are eager to know, though, is how soon hargo can be fit to play for us. “I feel it will still take us four weeks to get him into the rhythm of training again and get to the point of match play,” said SAF.

He added: “Normally, when a player has been out for that length of time he is helped by the fact he is doing his rehabilitation with other players. Because he did it on his own in the USA it is not easy.”

So its official. Following the handover of duties between the respective parties, and the understanding of his situation by our staff, Owen Hargreaves is expected to be back somewhere around end of October or early November!

Exactly…as SAF has said, He’s having headaches with midfield team selection. Scholes and giggs have no intention to fizz out just yet..Fletch is in the form of his life and carrick is nearing his peak with every game. Ditto for anderson..the lad is improving by leaps and bounds with each game! Having hargo back will be a headache for gibson more than SAF, I guess 😀
