Alexander Chapman Ferguson was appointed manager of Manchester United. The club was in great turmoil at the time, having won the league title the last time in 1967. His job at that time was to end the club’s wait for the league title.

23 years on..

Sir Alex Ferguson has established himself as one of the greatest managers in world football. He has won a total of 11 premier league titles, 5 FA cups, 3 League cups and 2 Uefa Champions League trophies, not to mention a truckload of individual honours. He has developed a galaxy of stars : Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, David Beckham, Eric Cantona, Darren Fletcher, Cristiano Ronaldo to name a few.
