Wazza Said So!

Quickie review of the 1-1 draw at St.Andrews

  • Park Ji Sung can be stamina defying, and was surprisingly good with winning back the balls and some good passes.
  • Patrice Evra is GOD! I would love to see him wear the Captain’s armband more this season. I strongly disagree with the tabloids claiming Wazza to be the successor after Nev’s supposed retirement. (Remember when Capello praised Wazza, SAF said that there’s still a lot of time for Wazza to captain United?)
  • Valencia started off well, but kinda fizzed out in second half. Full marks to Brum for keeping out the crosses as well as corners.
  • Really unfortunate for United to concede that goal. Came out of nothing! Park might have saved us the blushes by heading it comfortably before Bowyer did, but he’s not to blame due to the unfortunate nature of the goal.
  • Should Michael Owen have been given the chance to save us, ahead of a debut appearance for Diouf? I think so.
  • After initially thinking the second yellow to Fletch was justified, the decision seems a little harsh now. Especially since its Fletch who gets robbed so often! But oh well. Raging at Clattenberg (or is it Clattenburg? Whatever!) will only give a chance to the FA to enforce their suspended ban against Sir Alex Ferguson.
  • On the other hand, it wasn’t an offside and justice was done by Clattenberg for United’s goal. Or Brum’s own goal, rather. Phew!
  • Why on earth was Giggs, on introduction, deployed on Right Wing and Valencia on the left???
  • Kuszchszchszchack needs a mention. There you go!  (Good game, lad!)
  • Rafael had a good game too. Very good potential, him! Well timed tackles, good number of ventures forward through the wing. Having said that, his partnership with Valencia must improve.
  • Berbatov was out because of an injury, and not because he’s on his way out or because of a “bad” performance against Leeds.
  • Heartening thing is that United showed up yesterday, after the dismal outing against Leeds. Disheartening thing is, we might give Arsenal a run for their money by not converting our chances.
